Bruce Springsteens' state-of-the-country lament Friday on the Today Show

So glad someone recorded this....I saw it live before leaving for the day.....was a big Bruce fan back in the day....Yay for Bruce.

His lament follows immediately the few riffs of the first opening song....

I saw the Bruce segments, but I am rather annoyed at NBC. The sound was horrid. They had Bruce's voice turned down so you could hardly hear it and if you saw shots of Matt Laur, you could tell he did not like Bruce, scowling through most of the performance. Some of the fluff acts had far better coverage with audio on these shows. Absolutely no reason for NBC to have had such bad sound. Interesting, I played the clips you posed and the sound is clear. I spoke with other folks locally and they commented they could not hear Bruce but he band was clear. I wonder if the tape delay for he West coast was edited to cut out his voice?

Whoa, that's interesting. When I watched it live his voice sounded pretty clear. I missed the shots of Matt Lauer scowling though. (That surprises me though that he was....I hope it turns out he was only scowling b/c Al Roker stepped on his foot or something....)

Thanks for these - I wish I'd seen the show. I was a big Bruce fan too, way back when. These clips have a lot of that old energy.

They sure did! I haven't really kept up with his career in ages, but now am in the mood for a little more Bruce :)

Check YouTube further, there are a bunch of recent videos and a few more from the Today show than I posted.

Ya think? niyabinghi September 29 2007, 18:41:52 UTC
I don't know....I'm not sure that a decent health care program would make it necessarily a left wing fascist nanny state.
