untitled fluff

I was digging through some stuff and found this bit of silly fluff. It's old and...not good, but I thought I'd post it anyway because there can never be too much NiSaki, right?

"...kito? Sakito!"

"Huh?" He blinked, drawn out of a complete mental blank by a familiar hand waving in front of his face. Niya was standing in front of the couch where he was stretched out resting after the show.

"We're all packed up, Saki. Time to go," Niya informed him pointing at Ruka slinging the last bag over his shoulder near the door.

"Already?" Sakito yawned and sat up, reaching for his jacket.

Niya laughed softly, "Yeah, you slept through all of it, you lazy bastard."

Sakito hadn't remembered falling asleep, but glanced at his watch with a perplexed expression and realized it had been well over and hour and half since the performance had ended. "Oh," he said sheepishly. "Sorry...I must have been more tired than I thought." Slipping on his coat, Sakito picked up his phone and keys and started for the door with Niya.

"Don't worry about it, we all get tired sometimes." With a friendly pat on the shoulder, Niya pulled the door open and they both stepped out into the chill winter air. Immediately lighting up a cigarette, the bassist waved at the other three, who were pulling out of the parking lot in Ruka's car. "I think Yomi said they were going out for a drink or something before heading back to the hotel. I'm not going, but I can drop you off with them if you want."

"Err...I dunno." Sakito wasn't much in the mood to go out drinking, especially with Yomi and Ruka (that was a recipe for certain trouble). He was still feeling woozy from the hour-long nap he had backstage, and really just wanted to crawl into bed. Niya glanced at Sakito out of the corner of his eye, took a few more puffs of his cigarette and put it out.

"I'll take that as a no," he chuckled. "Com'on, before you fall asleep on your feet." With that he gave Sakito a slight nudge with his elbow toward the car.

A few minutes and one convenience store stop later, Sakito and Niya checked in to the small hotel the band had booked a couple days ago for this leg of the tour. They dragged the important stuff upstairs to their room (both heartily agreed that it would be best to be in the same room lest the other three returned late and loudly), then Niya disappeared to have a bed-time cigarette before turning in.

Left alone, Sakito arranged his things by one of the beds and debated taking a shower. In the end, hygiene won over exhaustion and he spent a good twenty minutes revelling in the hot water. By the time he was clean and in pajamas, Niya had come back and was leaning up against the headboard of the other bed, flipping channels. "Hey," Niya grunted in greeting, not looking away from the TV.

"Anything good on?" Sakito asked, sitting on the edge of the bed, effectively blocking the other's view while he dried his hair with a towel.

"I dunno, you're in the way," Niya answered, good-naturedly planting a foot against the guitarist's shoulder. Sakito obligingly scooted over and sat cross-legged while continuing to dry his hair. "How much you wanna bet Yomi gets arrested tonight for indecent exposure?" the bassist said with a sly grin, referring to their short vocalist's seeming inability to keep his clothes on in public situations, especially when intoxicated.

"Oh, don't say that!" Sakito protested. "It might actually happen this time. Let's at least hope we get through the rest of the tour without him getting into serious trouble."

"Come on, you know it's bound to happen one of these days. He's lucky that old woman three months ago had really bad eyes."

The corners of Sakito's lips twitched upward in memory of that evening. "I still can't believe he actually took you up on that dare."

"It's Zozzy. When does he ever refuse a dare? Especially when it involves removing his pants."

Stretching and tossing the towel in the general direction of the bathroom, Sakito lay back on the bed next to his bandmate and yawned mightily. Niya glanced down at him in between flipping channels. "Why are you so tired? You slept like twelve hours last night."

Shrugging, Sakito felt his eyelids closing against his will. "Too much tour I guess," he mumbled in reply and was fast asleep in moments. Niya blinked at the sleeping guitarist in confusion, then sighed and got up, dumping a blanket on top of Sakito before relocating to the other bed.

* * *

Niya was rudely awoken after only a couple hours of sleep by a fit of coughing followed by an irritated huff from across the room. Disoriented by the pitch black, as it was the middle of the night, he rubbed his eyes and peered into the dark, trying to make out what exactly had disturbed his sleep. "...Nn?" He received a slight rustling of blankets in reply and another muffled cough. Oh yeah...tour...hotel room...Sakito..., Niya thought disjointedly, still half-asleep. "...You awake?"

"Yeah," came Sakito's rather hoarse reply.

"You don't sound too good." Niya sat up and pushed open the curtain over the window to let in a bit of light. In the dim glow from the streetlamp outside he could just make out the guitarist's figure huddled on the other bed. Despite the lack of proper light, it wasn't hard to see that Sakito looked utterly miserable. Hauling himself out of bed, Niya shuffled across the room sat down next to Sakito, resting the back of his hand against the other's cheek briefly.

"Oo, your hands are cold," Sakito protested softly. He was shivering a bit, no small wonder with the fever he had racked up in the last couple of hours. Niya reached over and pulled the blankets up under Sakito's chin, then started groping around blindly for his travel bag.

"Why didn't you get me up?" The bassist's irritation at being woken up melted away quickly in favor of worry about his friend; Niya was a big softy at heart, especially when it came to his bandmates, no matter how bad-ass he tried to appear for the sake of public image. Finding his bag, he fished out a bottle of aspirin and reached for the bottle of water on the bedstand. "Here, sit up for a sec."

Sakito shrugged and replied while labouriously pushing himself upright, "I didn't wanna trouble you over a little cold." He took the proferred water bottle and pills.

"This doesn't look like a 'little cold' to me," Niya chided, tucking Sakito in again when he laid down, and continued playfully, "Besides, you would have gotten Hitsugi up if you were feeling that bad, why not me?"

"He's used to my whining...." Sakito snuggled down further into the blankets, still shaking a little, though he was starting to feel warmer under the heavy quilt. "Ugh...why did I have to get sick now? Couldn't it have waited until after the tour was over?"

"Baka, you're probably sick because of the tour." Without warning, Niya swung his legs up and stretched out on his side next to Sakito, propping his head up on one hand. The other hand combed gently through the guitarist's hair. Mildly shocked, Sakito found that after the initial surprise of having Niya, let alone anyone in a good while, lay next to him like this he really didn't have the energy protest, nor did he particularly want to. The attention was quite pleasant, especially since he was getting no vibe from Niya that the other was at all uncomfortable with the situation.

"Well...I hope I don't get you sick too."

Niya just stifled a yawn and let his head drop down to the bed. Ruffling Sakito's hair, he moved his arm down to rest lightly around the other's shoulders. "Can you sleep now?"

"I think so, the aspirin is starting to work." Sakito was indeed feeling much more relaxed and a little bit sleepy, not to mention something extra he couldn't exactly place. He tried to focus on that mysterious sensation, but the more he thought about it the more it eluded him and he gave up in favor of getting some sleep. They were both out cold with in a few more minutes and didn't get up again until Yomi barged through the adjoining door late the next morning and, upon finding Niya and Sakito fast asleep in the same bed, loudly proclaimed them both to be totally gay for each other.

The (very lame) end! XD
