Ha!. No, that would have made sense. Though to be honest, one of the reasons I didn't back up the pictures more often was simply due to sheer size. A lot of pics, many of them scanned in from 35mm prints, made for "not suitable for floppy disc backup". I kid. I haven't used floppies for backup for... well, a long time. But even burning onto CD would have taken a stack of CDs. My pictures folder was the second largest folder I had, coming in only behind my music.
Which... ooog. I think I've lost as well. The files might still be on my iPod, but my iPod is ancient and has been really finicky. About one in three times I take the iPod out to the car, and plug it in and iPod says "I has no music at all, boss." Have to bring it back in and plug it in and point at the files and say "no, you do. See?" Then the iPod replies "oh, right, boss. There they are. Just like I was tellin' you all along." I'm hesitant to even look at this point. Dumb iPod.
And yes, I just had a virtual conversation with my music player. Still working on coffee today.

I'm so sorry you've lost pics and videos of puppies and tortoise. -hug-
Had you uploaded anything to flickr or youtube or dropbox, etc?
