Elizabeth got me up at 8, but Fairlith and Jordan, her boyfriend from New York, were coming by at 9:30, so I didn't bother trying to coax the baby back to sleep. As a result she was crotchety all day. But, she did say her first word, which was exciting, and I called my parents about it
