theres a saying in my country "entre gusto y gusto no hay disgusto" , it means that you should just use your own judgement in what you like or not , so dont feel pressured to like anything ,and do things at your own pace , just cuz something appeals to the masses doesnt mean you have to love it too. i think you can actually say that something is worth liking and not like it yourself.
i've heard that b4. maybe Garcia Marquez is just using colombian proverbs and passing 'em on as profound statements. stupid bastard- stupid best author of our time-bastard
garcia marquez might be a bastard , but at some level , arent we all bastards? that proverb is used most commonly by people like me , bc my taste in women is very....particular.
To Like or to Lump

To "lump" something is just to dislike it, or so says "How to Succeed in Business...." I believe that one might like this certain "what" because of personality. As today's lesson was personality, I feel smarter than everyone else...except you were there too. An extroverted person uses energy from others. Introverts can use their own energy. If you are extroverted at the time, you will feel the need to join in, to feel included, and to feed off of the energy everyone else is getting from the "what." Conversely, if you are feeling introverted at the time, you will feel no need to participate as you are sure you don't need that energy to satisfy your needs
