movie time

i watched a movie called the Magdalene Sisters tonight. its based on a true story and was very moving/almost shocking. about a convent in the UK which was more like a prison, for women who committed 'sins'. the last 'laundry' was closed in 1996. that astounds me ( Read more... )

i saw that movie awhile ago. it's pretty powerful/disturbing.

oh i heard about it... everyone seems to be talking about it these days, did it just recently come out?

its so awful that stuff like this happens straight through the 20th century and we think of ourselves as such a great generation. its so awful.

i think its been out for a number of years actually... at least 5+.
60 Minutes did a thing on it over a year ago - i believe.
Stuff like this is what pisses me off - BECAUSE of people's arrogance and self-ritious attitude -'such a great generation', etc.
just because you are following a religion- even a religious leader, does not put you above others or make you powerful, etc...
