someone recommended the movie "spanglish" to me. about a girl applying to college and the movie is basically about her essay. its kinda the story of her life. a girl from mexico moves to the US and has to learn to adjust. apparently its really good and has gotten a lot of hype ( Read more... )

Tonight I watched "De-Lovely" with my family. A smooth combination of musical/biography/documentary/story made it not only interesting but fun to watch. I am one who often finds myself bored by the sing-song-yness of musicals, and this was really delightful to watch. not a drag, and not frequently a bore. I would love to get the soundtrack... we went from factual to actual accounts... we read diary entries from different people, both survivors and people who perished. then we wrote reactions to one or two that we really liked or were moved by. we discussed them. there were some really touching reactions and comments. its amazing to read or hear the stories of holocaust survivors, and ( Read more... )
