I don't really feel like writing an outraged post on the topic, since there are so many out there already, but I'll contribute to the googlebomb, at least: Amazon rank.

I'm particularly confused by the choice of which of Jacqueline Carey's books got included in the fail. Phèdre's trilogy-Kushiel's Dart, Chosen, and Avatar-are all still ranked, but ( Read more... )

The top search results for "homosexuality" are quite...interesting. It's possible that it's an artifact of queer-positive writing just not using the word, but I'm a bit suspicious...

Yeah, compare Amazon's results to those on Barnes & Noble or Powell's. I don't think there's any shortage of queer-positive books using that keyword in their databases.

Some sort of metadata is definitely involved, I'm sure, but it's still hard to imagine some of the Kushiel books being tagged with whatever word is triggering this, but not others.

Actually, found the difference, I think. About to edit the original post.
