I'll post properly this weekend, I promise.  I've been bogged down with practicum work, and I have to move today/tomorrow.  Proper post later.

Just as I start to learn student names and get to know my students, they switch classes.  I now have an entirely new batch of kids, and I already miss the old ones, despite an altercation with a wasp nest.  Three boys from our group found it at lunch, and "not realizing it was a wasp nest" kicked and threw rocks at it (the males of our species ( Read more... )

I had a truly wonderful birthday.  Thank you all for sharing it with me.

The Saturday party was a ton of fun.  It's just excellent to hang out with friends I've been away from so long.  I can't wait for someone else to have a birthday so we can do it again.

Peta and I are looking after my sister's cat, Narra, this weekend.

Narra, like all animals, misses her mummy.  As a cat, she shows this through what we call "love vomit", although she's shown herself to be somewhat creative in this respect.
