Even though it may not appear so, the photo thumbnail is more "me" than one might think. This is one of my own seedlings which will be introduced to the commercial trade in a couple years from Snowpeak Iris and Daylily in Lebanon, Oregon ( Read more... )

I wish I had the energy/temperment for gardening. Too much of my limited resources are engaged elsewhere.

Again -- I want iris! I'll even come and get them in January (if there are any rhizomes or seeds to be had -- I suppose if they're in the ground they'll have to wait. :-( But I plan to try to get up there around Jan 10 (Owl's birthday party is in Oak Ridge that evening) -- and if I'm well enough, and have a reliable vehicle to drive -- I'll try to come on up to Asheville for a day or two after that, if it's okay. Love you!

We're talking about a short jaunt to TN--Jim and Nancy (Dorothy's son who is our landlord, plus his wife) and the two of us were talking about a trip to the Opryland hotel to walk through the gardens under glass. This will give me a chance to see you all, I hope. At least I don't have to try driving that far.

I'm really looking forward to a time when I can come for a week or so.

Ooh, the gardens under glass sounds like a good trip. It would be great to come up to the hotel and see you!
