Today is awesome outside. I have to study, but I was thinking how nice it would be to walk around. I wish I didn't need a car. It's really nice to be able to walk from the drugstore, to school, to 4 different grocery stores (and be within 2 blocks of 6 if you count the Green Market), to the library, to a used record joint, and if you feel like

Okay, please forgive me, but are you at College Park or at Baltimore? Either way, you should check out yelp.com. Reviews done by real people (open to anyone) and you get the actual scoop on what's fun and what's not. Let me know if this ends up helping you the tiniest bit.

College Park. It's ghetto to the max, and not in an interesting funky way. It's more plain scary. According to the FBI or something, UMCP has the third most dangerous campus in the US due to the surrounding area (i.e., College Park). So... there are definite limitations to public transportation.

This means taking it at night to go out in DC is a rotten idea unless you go in a large group, or if rape and a mugging are what you're looking for. Parking in DC is apparently miserable as well, more so than NYC bc the change from "acceptable" to "your windshield will be smashed, your car left on concrete blocks, and all carseats and batteries will be missing" is oftentimes a matter of 2 blocks.

I have also discovered that my classmates enjoy driving drunk and high on marajuana. This is immature bullshit.
