[Special 003] Body Switch: Usagi-chan

Jan 27, 2011 07:19

[Well! The picture in the journal is most certainly not Mizuno Ami. It is, however, still an Asian girl, but a few years younger, with an unusual hairdo of buns and pigtails.]

I'm Usagi-chan!

[And something in Ami realizes that while some people in Luceti will remember Usagi in blond form from while she was here, many won't, and they won't know ( Read more... )

[Well. When Robert was worrying about what sort of form changes that his friends might have, them turning into their best friends was not one that immediately came to mind - though in retrospect, it was perfectly logical. Nonetheless, he was more than a little surprised to see the somewhat-familiar face of Ami as something not-so-familiar.]

Ah, Doctor Mizuno, so they have affected you too... And your best friend? That must be... poignant for you. [And painful. Robert doesn't even want to think about how much that might have hurt him if he'd turned into a certain person.]

... Do you perhaps need any assistance, or are you alright at the moment? [Robert was serious when he said he wanted to help Ami if she had a problem. After all, it's the least he can do. She basically singlehandedly stopped him from freezing, taught him to use the journals and gave him a place to live.]

[He nods at that, as enthusiastically as he can. (Which isn't particularly enthusiastic.)] Certainly, if you'd like. Of course, this is whether you're comfortable with it as well... I mean, it is quite a walk. And goodness knows I could stand some physical exertion. [Robert laughs, a short chuckle that seems a bit forced - both because he's breathing a little hard, and because he honestly feels slightly ashamed of it.

Eventually he gets close enough to see the row of buildings that includes House Three.] I think I'm within eyesight of your house. It's... It's one floor tall, isn't it? And somewhat rectangular. [Robert adjusts his glasses so he can peer further into the horizon.] It certainly seems like a nice house, though... if a little, er, dated. [More like "ancient", but Robert realizes that, comparitively, it's fairly modern considering the rest of Luceti.]

It's always good to keep in top shape. [The voice holds no trace of mocking or reprimand.] We can work together on that, too. I don't want to become lazy.

It sounds like you have the right house. I'll come to the door.

[Robert continues up to the front door and knocks, not very. He swallows back whatever nervousness he was feeling. This was something for Ami's sake, to make her feel better, and anxiety would not help that cause. So he tries to seem more or less relaxed as he waits for Ami.]

[He speaks a little to himself.] I do believe this is the first time I've ever actually visited another person's house...

[The first time she ever visited a friend was when she went to Usagi's house. She understands. Of course, not hearing it, Ami - currently looking quite different - opens the door to let Robert in.]

Come in and warm up, please.

(OOC: Oops, typo up there. Meant to be "not very loudly". xD;)

[Robert does so gratefully, realizing just how cold his face had been as soon as he steps inside. His glasses even mist up, and he has to take them off just a moment - an action that makes him look a little uncomfortable - to wipe the lenses off.] Ah, thank you... [Replacing his glasses, he takes a better look at Ami's new form. This was her friend Usagi, she said? She just seemed... different, in several ways, from Ami. Especially her face.] It must be a little strange to be in the body of your friend, but you seem to be taking it fairly well.

Well, there's nothing I can do about it right now, so...

[As she speaks, she hands Robert a tissue to wipe the glasses.]

It seems better to enjoy the chance to see her. Actually, I sort of started thinking about keeping a few pictures of myself, so I have a picture of her here with me after this ends.

[Some pictures of her? Robert thinks that it's a sweet gesture.] That would serve as a nice memento, I think. Doesn't the journal have a function that it can use to take video or pictures? I suppose you could do so that way, unless your laptop has some sort of camera function as well.

[Robert makes his way into the room, looking around it. It's a homely, cozy place - it makes Robert feel warm, and not just physically so.] Is your friend out and about at the moment? I don't want to disturb anyone.

It's alright. You won't bother anyone.

[She nods then, and explains the first point second.]

The same pictures stored in our journals. What I meant was that I'd like one I could have printed out and put in a frame, but I guess I could just consider it like a scrapbook.

A scrapbook? ... I assume that would be like a photoset then, right? Basically a series of related photographs in a small database. [Robert is learning that "book" means "written or pictoral objects bound together into one unit". Or at least, that seems to be the general meaning of it. He's... actually learned quite a bit since entering Luceti.]

Is there perhaps some way I could assist with that? Or do anything else?

[She shakes her head as she leads the way to what serves as a living room to let Robert sit down.]

I appreciate that, but it's something I want to do for myself. That way it's something I've done to remember her.

[Ami seems really devoted to this Usagi. It briefly crosses Robert's mind that it might be a devotion more of his calibre, but he doesn't want to assume that.] That makes logical sense to me. Besides, you would put emotion and feeling into it that I would not. [He says this with a sort of wistful smile as he sits down.

It seems like he might want to talk more about this, but there's also a hesitance about his expression that moght dissuade it.] Really though, I'd just want to do something that would make this time easier for you.

[Usagi is everything to her: her first-ever friend, her dearest friend, the one who saved her and the one who she saved, her fellow soldier, the focus of her revenge when she was brainwashed, and her princess for the good or for the bad. Only her devotion to her mother could possibly come close to the depth of feeling she has for Usagi.]

But, you're also in a bad situation, aren't you? Arriving here just a little while ago, and finding things in this state already.

(ooc: ironically, one of the reasons for this switch is that even the two actresses used to joke about juuuust how much Ami loved Usagi-chan. XD)

(OOC: xD; When Robert wondered what devotion she had and whether it was like his, he was wondering if it was romantic interest as well. It was more an offhanded thought, like "oh, she seems to like her a lot, I wonder if this is how" rather than any serious conviction, though.)

[Robert winces very slightly at this, and slumps. Yes, it's true that this was bugging him a bit... well, alright, it was seriously wearing at him. But he didn't want to telegraph that weakness if Ami herself was having a tough time.] I... I wish to assist you. Although it is true that I am... well, I find myself somewhat at a loss to deal with the present situation... I do not want to add to your burden.

[She gives a small, friendly laugh, somewhere between a laugh and a chuckle.]

It seems like we truly deal with things in a similar way. Let's both help each other, then, and consider that enough.

(ooc: I figured, that's why I mentioned it. XD On the plus side, that same devotion finally freed Ami from the Dark Kingdom; she thought she killed Usagi and the shock completely broke the spell.)

[Robert half-smiles in return.] I sometimes wonder how easy it would be to get me help. [He says the next part in a sort of faraway voice.] It has been such a long time since I ever felt close to anybody that I wonder if it is even possible anymore. Not that I don't want to try... just, it's difficult. [And troubling. Rejection lurks around the corner of any close relationship. And the closer it is, the more it hurts.]

I realize that doesn't make much logical sense. But then again, neither does the rest of this place right now.
