"Eh? Are you serious? "Ohno questioned, gripping his phone tightly.
"Yeah. I’ll update you with the details later ne~"
----
The teachers of Tsuki High School were busy running around getting ready for the one and only unique student who will be transferring in that day. It was one of those peaceful days where teachers will be yelling at the students to not do silly things and embarrass themselves in public.
The school is actually really huge but there’s only one class available or maybe the only class that dares to attend school. The other rooms which used to be class rooms are used as store rooms and such. Besides having few students, the school also lacks of staff. There are only 4 teachers in the school and by 4 means 4, not more and not less.
----
The class teacher of the one and only class, Shiori-sensei entered with a grin.
"Sensei~! Did something good happen? You’re smiling like an idiot~!" one of the brattiest students remarked.
"There might be a possibility." Shiori-sensei answered with an obvious grin plastered on her face. "Jya, Sakurai-kun please enter."
Sakurai entered the classroom looking neat and tidy. He bowed to his new classmates politely as he introduced himself.
"I’m Sakurai Sho. I just transferred here due to family purposes. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu."
"Sakurai-kun, your seat will be at the end near the window. Please be nice to him ne~"
"Owh we will." the student sitting next to the bratty one smirked.
Sho walked over to his seat when he spotted a guy grinning at him. It sent shivers down his spine but ignored the weird feeling in his chest. Class started and the uproar began. The way the teachers teach here is a total different story compared to Sho’s old school. Teachers were using feather pens and rulers that looked like the witch’s wand. Creepy but Sho couldn’t care less. He’s here to study and not to doubt the teachers. Still, the weird feeling was there. Not knowing what he’s got himself into Sho tried to enjoy his school life as he did in his previous school.
----
During break, a sleepy looking guy that looks pretty handsome walked towards Sho. As he did, other students were glaring at him but ignoring the deathly glances, he continued making his way to the newly transferred student.
"Baka~ you said you’ll update me but you came without prior notice." the guy pouted.
"Gomen~ I thought of giving you a surprise."
"Owh, you gave me a surprise alright. You really have the guts to come here huh." he smirked.
"Why not? Besides, this is the only school in town. I don’t really have a choice." Sho reasoned.
"You’re here alone? What exactly happened? You hang up on me. I’m gonna get you for this." the guy started to tickle Sho.
"Oh-chan~ stop it. Wakatta. Gomen.." Sho breathed to regain his breath after all the tickling given by Ohno. "My parents disowned me."
"Uso desho~" Ohno said as his jaw dropped.
"Nope. Not lying. It’s true. They found out about that." Sho smiled.
"And to think that you can still smile. You’re hopeless."
"So I’m under your care ne~" Sho grinned and Ohno nodded. "Your friends are looking at me as if I’m food."
"It’s natural here. You’ll get use to it, sooner or later." he chuckled.
"Heck~ it’s a no wander other students refuse to attend school." Sho laughed.
----
Sho and Ohno are often spotted together. Maybe it’s because Sho crashed over at Ohno’s place but still, they’re relatively close. They’re easily mistaken as a couple with their intimate doings such as sharing drinks, eating from the same plate and other couple-like stuff.
It’s been about a week since Sho’s transfer and everything is still peaceful and nice. Or maybe not…
"Oh-chan, is it me or do I feel like I’m being killed by a few pairs of glaring eyes." Sho asked sarcastically.
"Nope. I felt it too." just as Ohno assured Sho that his feelings are not wrong while looking around for the mentioned eyes, a handsome pretty boy came over to their seats.
"Yo~" the pretty boy greeted them.
"MatsuJun.. Mou, you scared us for a moment there." Ohno laughed.
"Hey, I’m not called a devil for nothing you know." he smirked, while Ohno continued laughing. "Your little friend here doesn’t seem to be afraid of any of us here like the rest of those worthless human I see." he smiled at Sho. "You have my respect."
"I’m not sure about this but.." he glanced over to Ohno and Ohno gave him a slight nod. "err.. Thank you."
"I’m Matsumoto Jun, known as the devil as I’m a demon, well some sort of demon. So what brings you here?"
"Long story, but in order to cut it short, I was disowned and now crashing over at Oh-chan’s. Ah~ I’m Sakurai Sho." Sho smiled.
"HUH? Are you serious? You’re human right?" Jun said with a shocked expression.
"Of course he’s human~! Can’t you sense it?"
"No~ I mean human parents disown their own child too??" Jun thought out loud. "Heck, I never knew."
"Humans can sometimes be crueler than our kind. Besides, this kid we're talking about here is also not that ordinary." Sho nodded while Ohno grinned.
"…" Jun stood there speechless. "Don’t tell me he knows what we are from the very beginning." Jun glanced over at Ohno, while looking intensively at Sho.
Sho just gave Jun a brief nod, saying that he does know what his kind was, or well, he just know these people are all gifted except him. There’s something Ohno always say to him which is ‘If you don’t disturb the others, then the others won’t disturb you unless they wanna find fault.’
Jun was still frozen at his spot after learning that Sho knew from the very beginning what they are. Not many humans can accept the fact that people or creatures like them exist among the worthless humans. The term worthless humans was given by none other than MatsuJun himself as he thinks humans are selfish liars who will do whatever it takes for their own benefit. Now that a human was actually sitting right in front of him, without fear, without doubt, but with a pair of innocent eyes staring straight at him.
"Jun-kun, are you okay?" Sho asked, rather concerned about this new friend of his.
"Nn~ I’m fine." Jun blushed and excused himself.
"Heck Sho, you’re good!" Ohno laughed as he commented. Sho could only look blankly at his friend as he has got absolutely no idea what he’s trying to say.
----
School life is getting more and more discouraging for Sho. Teachers rarely teach anymore. Students will have to self study if they want to score but none did. They were all relaxing in class, hanging out with their mates. Sho was at his own desk, trying to focus on his book when he realized that it was rather hopeless and stupid to even think of studying in this sort of atmosphere.
Besides the noisy atmosphere that’s preventing him from studying, he’s also often surrounded by flirts who’re trying to get his attention since he can be considered a pretty boy and a rather tasty one as well. Unfortunately for Sho, Ohno isn’t always there to defend for him and sometimes Sho has no choice but to flee as fast as possible to avoid being raped by those desperate ladies.
"Come on~ Don’t run away from us.. We’ll make you feel good." one of the girls said in a very seductive tone which will make any male hard except Sho.
Sho shivered instead out of disgust and continued avoiding those persistent girls. Just when he was about to make a corner, turning into the canteen, he bumped into a tall figure. Sho immediately bowed to apologized for his carelessness when he heard loud footsteps running towards their direction.
"Yabai~" Sho mouthed, while thinking how to avoid those irritating girls.
The tall guy swiftly wrapped his arm around Sho’s shoulder so fast that even Sho did not notice there was an arm around him until he heard a girl shriek.
"Sho-chan get away from him now~!" another girl yelled.
Sho stood there, paralyzed. Female voices were heard and he felt dizzy as if he’s in his own world. The arms around him had helped support his weight but feeling so light headed, he didn’t know what to do. He’s surrounded by people who’re unfamiliar to him and Ohno’s nowhere near him. The next thing he know, everything went pitch black.
----
"Hey~ Wake up already.. Are you okay?" the tall guy from the ladies incident spoke. "Are you listening? Hey~ you okay?"
Sho tried to open his eyes and to get use to the bright surroundings. He was lying in the arms of a total stranger yet he felt so protected. Finally getting on with his senses, he jumped up and due to the dizziness. He fell onto a wall and leaned onto it for support.
"Hey, easy there. Are you feeling alright? Do you need a doctor?" he asked with a concerned voice but his facial expression was cold. He wasn’t even smiling.
"No, I’m fine." Sho said, noticing that the place he’s in now doesn’t look anything like school. "Err, where are we?"
"Did those girls frighten you so much that you lost your memory?" he laughed. "You’re still in school. This is some sort of an infirmary."
"Looks like a store room to me though." Sho mumbled.
"True, teachers don’t bother about other rooms other than the classroom." he smiled. "I’m Aiba. Aiba Masaki."
"Sakurai Sho."
"Jya, Sakurai-san, you should eat more. You’re really light." Aiba said even though Sho looks heavier than he is. "And I’ve already handled those girls. You can go back to class in peace after you feel better." he continued as he walked towards the door.
"Ahh, err.. Thanks." Sho slurred not knowing what else to say and the door clicked shut.
----
After fully coming to his senses, Sho slowly made his way back to class where he found Ohno at his seat. Sho wanted to go straight to him but he was still dizzy thanks to the previous incidents. He fell forward and held onto the door to prevent from falling face down. Jun noticed Sho holding onto the door, sitting helplessly on the floor.
"Sho~?"
".. Ah~ Jun-kun."
"Are you okay?" Jun asked, concerned about his new friend who looks like he’s gonna fall dead soon.
"Yeah~ I think so.." Sho said weekly.
"I don’t think so. I’ll get Ohno and we’re going to the doctor." Jun said firmly and helped Sho stand.
----
Sho cuddled himself under the sheets. He couldn’t believe that his health has gone this bad just because he was chased by a few girls. It sounds almost impossible but that was indeed the truth.
Being helplessly dragged to the doctor was one thing and being told the cause to his dizziness was another.
"You were chased by girls aren’t you?" the doctor asked with the presence of both Ohno and Jun.
"Ahh~ yes." Sho answered, looking at his feet.
The doctor smiled. "Then it’s a no wander. Humans who are chased by girls or rather ‘gifted’ girls always end up like you."
"Souka~ Now I get it. Mou, you got me worried just now." Ohno said, relaxing abit.
"eh?"
"Humans live on an energy call ‘Orku’. If our kind were to chase after humans especially if they’re in love with the human, the ‘Orku’ of that particular person will be greatly affected. It makes that person weak so that our kind can get that person. Something liked that. It’s hard to explain. You’ll get it sooner or later." Jun explained.
"So I’m dying already?" Sho asked, fearing for the worst.
"Not if you can do something about it." the doctor smiled. "Avoiding them won’t do you any good though."
"Sho-chan?" Ohno called from the door.
Sho’s train of thoughts crashed when Ohno called him. Sho has been like that for the past few days. After returning from the clinic, Sho has been shutting himself up to the extent of not going to school. Ohno is getting really worried for the genius Sho has never skipped school before even if he’s sick.
"Sho-chan~ you should at least eat something. You won’t survive this way." Ohno tried to persuade his lifeless looking friend.
"Oh-chan, what’s there to survive when I’m already mentally dying? As long as those girls don’t give up.. I.." Sho started to break down, crying.
Ohno immediately ran up to Sho, cuddling him trying to calm him down. Just when Sho was about to fall asleep in Ohno’s arms, the door burst open revealing an irritated Jun.
"Sho-kun, did something happen between you and Aiba?" Jun asked with an annoyed look.
Aiba? Ohno was amazed. How and when did Sho get involved with that guy? It’s almost impossible since he was always around Sho. Sho looks a blurred and has a very confused expression plastered on his face.
"Who?"
"Wait, Jun-kun. Is there some sort of mistake? It’s impossible for Sho-chan to get himself involved with Aiba." Ohno tried to reason with Jun.
"There’re no mistakes. He came to me asking where Sho was on my way home. If Sho’s not involved with him, then why does it concerns him about Sho?" Jun was boiling in anger, jealousy maybe.
"Anou~ Are you guys by any chance talking about Aiba Masaki?" Sho asked trying to keep up with his 2 friends.
"See, I told you~" Jun said sarcastically.
"Sho-kun, when exactly did you meet Aiba?" Ohno went back to Sho’s side.
"He was the one who saved me from those girls before I collapse by the classroom door."
"He just left you after saving you? How nice. Tsk." Jun snorted.
"No. He was with me in the infirmary then he left first. I left for class after a while as I thought I was feeling better but now I guess I was wrong." Sho look down at his feet.
"Are you serious?" Ohno asked, not buying what Sho said.
"He has no reasons to lie." Jun stated matter of factly.
"Aiba brought Sho-chan to the infirmary? But the infirmary is already like a store room. There’s no way a person could recover so fast."
"By the time we took him to the doctor, he was already.. It can’t be~" both Jun and Ohno glance over to the innocent looking Sho.
