Women and religion.

I'm getting past the point now of believing that it's simply men's interpretation of their holy books that's the issue, and not the foundational texts of their faiths that are also at fault. Marionmack makes the point that Christianity in the West is peopled by women, though not run by them. In some places, Christians are wondering where the men have gone and worrying about how Christianity has become feminised.

Women are getting something out of it, something fewer men see the point of. The Graun's commenters suggest that women value communities more (or that atheists are a bit autistic: thanks, Graun commenters) and some go so far as to suggest that they like Alpha males, of which God is the ultimate example. I think the former explanation is more likely to be true than the latter.
