I read something recently that said suppressing your body's natural weight gain proclivity takes four hours of physical activity a day. Not necessarily working out, but you know, walking, lifting, etc. This is why there are no fat Amish folk.
Plus if you're stressed, your body might retain calories more. Maybe start some yoga?

also - i sometimes gain small amounts of weight at the beginning and end of quarters. new classes/finals = stress = more cortisol = fat storage... etc.
