You'll try and try and one day you'll fly away

My eyes went to Illyria as I watched her talk to Connor. More like scold him though wasn't it? She seems to be doing that a lot lately. She might've not done as much in the way of scolding me - no, that had been Faith's job - but Illyria had told me what she'd felt at the time. It was strange that Illyria was the one who was giving all of us ( Read more... )

I closed the door silently behind me. The urge to slam it close was very much present, but I wasn’t a child. I’d not been that child for a long time now. Usually it had been around Cordelia I would regress to a child. Alongside with her, arguing over silly things. It was comforting in way. And it used to annoy Angel, which was probably why we did it as well ( ... )

Just because I found myself feeling the least bit needed and actually believed it didn't change the fact that I wasn't sure of exactly what to do with myself or even if I should be doing anything at all right now. I wasn't the 'leader' anymore and even if I was I had no idea what to do except wait a day or so until Faith healed and then head out again to finish what we all wanted to start earlier tonight.

I had no idea how long I just sat there on the step. Wesley I'm sure was still inside with Faith helping to bandage her up. I wondered if I should just go inside to see how she was doing, but I only felt as if I'd be interruping or something. They had some sort of bond I hadn't seen between the two of them before. Living together.. Being dead together for a decade must have a lot to do with that. Illyria and Connor had both disappeared somewhere once they'd gotten back and then there was Spike and Tara that I still hadn't seen since arriving at the house. That was one confrontation I'd just as soon put off as long as ( ... )

As I sat down next to Angel, I glanced around for the others. I’d not seen Tara and Spike in quite a while now that I thought about it. I wonder where in gods name they went off to. Illyria or Connor weren’t around either. I suppose Connor is off to some place where he can blow off steam or something rather. I’ve no idea where Illyria is. That of course is no different from…before…I died. But then I had *some* idea of where she *might* be. Now, I had no clue at all what so ever ( ... )

The way Wesley spoke about setting Faith's fingers straight I frowned as I looked at him. The past ten years or more that he'd been dead and where ever he'd been.. they'd changed him. Not that the change was for the bad or that he wasn't still himself, but.. he was different. Or maybe it was that I felt so different from the being I'd once been that he just seemed different. One thing I did know for sure was that his relationship with Faith had changed. They would always have some sort of bond, but there was something more. Something I wasn't sure if I really understood ( ... )
