My opposition to LJ Plus accounts isn't so much with having to see ads on the 'user interface' pages on LJ (I can deal with that if it's absolutely necessary), as much as it is having them plastered on my own content with no control over which ads show up. I had three Plus accounts (two fanfic journals and one for a specific hobby I'm involved in) and switched all of them back to Basic on Monday afternoon, when this shit was just kicking off properly, and I wasn't the first (there were several replies to the 'how can we do better?' comment post such a switch invites you to answer).

But if you can spread the word, and persuade others to do the same, go for it!
