I got the same. I think the ad image(s) are the insecure (non-https) elements. Apparently Google doesn't offer an SSL version of adsense code. I gather adsense relates to text ads rather than images, but maybe the image/flash ads aren't available on an SSL basis either?
I'm sorry, but that still doesn't answer my question. Why is it when someone posts a support request regarding something that other people might want to know and/or is even slightly critical of LJ's practices, it's set as private within a few minutes, yet Russian spam and "how do I do LJ-cuts?????" requests are left to clog up the requests page?
This might sound stupid and naive, but so many people hate ads (I know I do). You would think there would be a better way by now or possibly it is true with the Web 2.0 bubble bursting.
One day I would hope I could honestly say "Ads, Banners, Skyscrapers, Flash Ads .. Rest in Pieces!".
But LJ needs the money! They need it so bad! There's no way LJ could ever function without all that money! Think of all the features you would lose if they didn't have the money to make new ones!
I use Firefox and have the Web of Trust addon. I've gacked more than one ad where you can clearly see that the site being advertised on the LiveJournal login page has a RED (very poor) rating.
I have to wonder why LJ would share ads for websites that aren't trustworthy... (???) I understand the financial need for advertisements, but couldn't these be with sites that are SAFE for people to use?

Er, no?
Way to go, LJ!

As for your support request, a staff member should be answering it soon.
