Important security notice: malicious embedded content

Sep 23, 2009 00:08

There's been a breach of LJ security using embedded content, where post entries are edited to be public and contain malicious flash content. Please see my post on meta_lj for more details and updates.

Not to be too cautious or anything. Hrrrrm, but did you post this link? And what is at the other end? Sorry, I'm just super duper cautious anymore about clicking links.

This post links to my post on meta_lj about the security breach. Cautiousness noted and understood! I will make it more clear where it leads.

Thank you for being patient:)

Jeeeezus, I'm running, AD Block plus, No Script, Flashblock, and Sandboxie, and I'm still a touch paranoid.

I realized the original post kinda sounded eerily like the ones where some journal or community's entries would get deleted and a post would be made saying that the journal or community had moved elsewhere, with comments disabled and a link. And it's definitely not something I've done before--but, it's not about ads, so I felt like it belonged more on . However, has a much bigger subscription base (understandably!), and I felt like this was a pretty important notification to get out.
