i'm always up for guzzling some beer! but on the con side, i think we've missed wacken.
wait a second, that would be a great idea! combine oktoberfest with the wacken open air festival! germany...land of drunken metalheads puking out of their noses and digging up the bones of dead playwrights. think of the tourism deutschmarks they'd make form that.
on the faust part: i read that one before, but i don't remember running into the L&S theme song in there. perhaps i never finished the book? oddly enough, i was looking through my bookcase a couple weeks ago and thinking that i'd like to re-read faust sometime. this just gives me a reason to.
We need a cut of the tourism profits. My idea, you'd make it work.
Regarding Faust, it would depend on the translation. I've been reading a Franklin Library edition that was published in the early 80's, when Laverne and Shirley was still on. Maybe the translator was a fan.
i found the part with the wizards' chorus in my copy, but the witches chorus is not even included. my copy was translated in 1961, so i'm thinking that whoever translated your copy was having a little fun with their job. maybe it was their way of saying, "fuck you, i hate my job. i quit!"
