its a common misconception that valentines day is just for those who have a boy/girl friend's, valentines day is for the people who you love, friends, family etc. All iv been hearing from people is "I Hate valentines day its so commercialized, its all about gifts" "I dont want to celibrate it because you should share your love every day of the year

Valentines day is a celebration of the martyrdom of Saint Valentine, a preist of the roman catholic church whom during a time of war married people in secret and against the wishes of the empire so that they could not be forced into the army. if you were single you could be forced into the army, but married couples could not be forced to join up. And so when Valentine was found out he was killed.

the other story is that Valentine was a preist whom went to jail and wrote letters of love to many different woman, and married many different people whilst in jail. god knows why that would make him a saint.

so lets all celebrate the death of Saint Valentine, a man who bent the rules and got killed for it! YAY!

if i rob a bank and give it to poor people can i be a saint too?
