ACTA might be worse than SOPA

Jan 23, 2012 09:51

The US has SOPA and PIPA pending- but totally unnoticed (at least I didn't know a thing about it) Europe has something worse coming up, called ACTA (a number of non-European countries already signed it, but Europe is still deciding on it). I urge all of you to inform yourself about this act that might force your internet providers to deliver your ( Read more... )

I really am at a loss for words...
Why invent internet and make us all addicts?! Because that how I feel right now, with just the possible prospect of losing my online life, most importantly LJ, looming over my head. Dang those idjits!
I'm just so, so, SO eternally glad that we both met before internet shut down.

Exactly. And exactly. I really feel like an addict who gets a first impression of withdrawal. It's horrible, and when I imagine that I can't talk to my online friends on LJ anymore... *cries*

But you stay with me, and for that I will be forever grateful. *squishes you*

We can go through cold turkey withdrawal together.
*clings to you*

It's too horrible to think about! Already I don't know how I'm going to get Supernatural since Megaupload has gone, but the idea of losing Live Journal doesn't bare contemplating.

Without SPN the two of us wouldn't have met, and though we have come to share a lot more in the meantime, it still stands that this show was the starting point. In our little LJ world. And like you I really fear to discover that we can't watch our show anymore. And I mean fear. Not being curious or interested. I felt horrible all day long, and I don't think it will change anytime soon. Luckily we are probably still allowed to use e-mail until someone discoveres we are discussing state secrets. *clings to you*

Exactly. I don't think people who do not use the internet in the way that we do have any idea of the sheer joy it can bring. There is so much more to it than many people realise, that it stretches way beyond illegal downloads, and looking for information.

We'd best keep those state secrets to a minimum for the time being, just to be on the safe side.

*clings back for dear life*
