Good afternoon!

I've decided to jump into the no poo method and give it a shot. I've been primarily a once a week washer as it is, so the idea of my hair getting greasy during a transition phase doesn't really bother me at all. I'm a stay at home mom so I don't have to worry too much about my hair looking like crap for a while anyways. My hair is

I don't think the timing of your first wash makes a huge difference :) Though I do feel like the longer you stretch washes, the shorter your transition will be. This is just something I have gathered from personal experience as well as reading everyone else's stories on here. For example, those who BS/ACV wash every other day seem to have a more difficult time transitioning than those who do it every 4, 5 or 7 days.

I wouldn't have done a clarifying wash as the last regular shampoo wash. If you transition to an organic shampoo with no sulfates, the switch over to no poo is less severe. A clarifying shampoo strips the oils off your hair and scalp making your scalp overproduce oil to compensate. Thus the overly oily nasty head.
