Second of all

First of all in this second of all: is anyone still reading this? I'm sorry I haven't been updating, guys, for serious. I have no excuse. But gimme a while, I'll come up with something.

Second of all in this second of all: I'm seriously out of shape, bad enough where it's even annoying me. Also, money is tight. But I had a minor revelation: ( Read more... )

You can work your way to 100 pushups a day fairly easily, without stressing yourself too much.

Do 1 pushup, then do 2 an hour later, and so on, until you've done 10, then go back down.

Which you'll be able to do, after some time of doing the above. :)

I can see Books and Mel's faces already.

"What's the monkey doing now?"

"Shut up, Beeyotch, you're in my way!"

A book called Get Steppin? I'll take ten!

Find a capoeira club in Austin. Seriously, it's possibly the most brutal martial art humanity has ever come up with, but if you can survive the first two weeks (in which your body will ache and you will pray for death to be soon and swift) you'll be in the best shape of your life and convinced you're an utter killing machine.

I know capoeira, I saw Only The Strong with the chairman of American Kitchen Stadium at the impressionable age of 16 and thought it was pretty badass and quickly came to the conclusion that I would never, ever, ever be able to do that. Also: working out for free is the point.

First of all, I'm reading! (I'd write entries more often in my own, 'cept I'm not that interesting.)

Second of all, the concept of that site seems great. I can't wait to get started.

I think there is something to that website. 100 consecutively is a bit absurd, but the premise has worked for me ( ... )

I appreciate that you have written this as I have put on a few pounds myself in my recently un-employed state!

I am going to try your brother in-law's suggestion and that whole sit-up thing, although I think I know which one will be the winning method for me!

Thanks for writing again, it is always good to dig around in your brain a bit!

Have a baby... that worked wonders for my weight loss! I dropped 20 lbs in one day!

All of your ideas (and BIL's) sound like great ideas. Also they'll help with the nerves pre-wedding. You'll just take off for a walk or some sit-ups to relieve the nervies instead of picking up a cookie.
