[Well. When Robert was worrying about what sort of form changes that his friends might have, them turning into their best friends was not one that immediately came to mind - though in retrospect, it was perfectly logical. Nonetheless, he was more than a little surprised to see the somewhat-familiar face of Ami as something not-so-familiar.]

Ah, Doctor Mizuno, so they have affected you too... And your best friend? That must be... poignant for you. [And painful. Robert doesn't even want to think about how much that might have hurt him if he'd turned into a certain person.]

... Do you perhaps need any assistance, or are you alright at the moment? [Robert was serious when he said he wanted to help Ami if she had a problem. After all, it's the least he can do. She basically singlehandedly stopped him from freezing, taught him to use the journals and gave him a place to live.]

It makes me miss everyone from home. [Can he hear that wistfulness in her voice?] But the truth is, we weren't able to see each other very often back home, either; we've been busy with our families and careers. [Usagi married and possibly with a child on the way, Rei studying in Kyoto, Makoto still nearby but busy with her flower shop (and soon to be engaged to Furuhata Motoki), and Minako touring with her singing career.]

[Isolation. That was something Robert knew well.] I understand, Doctor Mizuno. At least somewhat... though, to be honest, I don't know if I have ever had anybody whom I could truly call a "friend" until very recently. [He neglects to mention a certain somebody from his past, both because it would hurt and because he wouldn't say it randomly over the journals.]

If you are feeling a little lonesome, I would have no qualms providing you with company if your roommate is not adverse to the proposal... [Robert catches himself. It's a bit rude, he realizes (or thinks), to ask this.] Assuming that this is not too bold or unprofessional a statement.
