[She isn’t sure where she is for a moment. Then the trees swim into view (How long had she been here? It felt like only a moment, one of those indefinable moments that could really be a minute or could be weeks).
Her eyes widen as recollection hits her with staggering force.]
Usagi-chan!
[Where’s Usagi?! They’d taken her and then-
Ami’s head turns frantically, and she only breathes again when she sees Usagi, half asleep, just waking up. She takes a few deep breaths to calm herself, and lowers her voice.]
Are you alright?
[ For a moment she’s fairly sure the world is spinning, or at least something close to it as consciousness slowly returns to her. Part of her is tempted to call out for another moment of sleep, she doesn’t need that much time to get to school either way.. but then she seems to somewhat realise the situation when the spinning stops and she fully opens her eyes, a look of surprise on her face. ]
Ami-chan--- [ The name escapes from her mouth, not quite saying it as much as she just blurts it out at the sight of the other person. ] … I’m okay. [ Everything slowly comes back to her, and while she can definitely realise that was not okay, she knows she’s more or less feeling okay now. If not just physically (and she’s quite the optimist, anyway, refusing to let anything keep her down for long.) ]
How about you..?
[It’s the answer she always gives, without even thinking about if it’s true, without even wanting to know if it’s true this time; she doesn’t want to clearly remember what they did to her:]
I’m fine.
[But she will remember. She has to remember, because if she doesn’t remember, she loses a part of herself. Ami squares her shoulders and faces Usagi earnestly..]
We have to go back to the house. I can take care of you there. If you’re injured, I mean.
Hmm, I’m mostly okay, maybe just a little bit hurt.. [ She giggles, but there’s something slightly awkward about it rather than her usual honest bright laughter. She’s keeping up a strong front for now, at least, as she nods at Ami. ]
Thanks for helping me, Ami-chan!
[‘Thanks for helping me, Ami-chan.’ And all she can do is shake her head. What good has she done this past while? - How long has it even been? Wordlessly, she avoids having to confess her failure, and how much she doesn’t deserve Usagi’s faith and confidence, by looking for her journal. By luck, it isn’t far away - and she realizes it’s been recording their voices. She picks it up. Keeping it brusque and efficient helps to keep her voice steady.]
This is Mizuno Ami. Tsukino Usagi and I have returned from the Malnosso.
[ It’s then that Usagi notices Ami is talking to the communicator, and she quickly chimes in. Perhaps to keep the mood of the broadcast up a bit. ]
We’re mostly okay though, so please don’t worry, everyone! Ami-chan and I are together now, so it’ll be alright!
(ooc: pink is Usagi, blue is Ami; both may reply)
