grad school is like trial by fire. or how, when they used to try to suss out witches, they would put boulders on them and if they drowned they weren't witches, but if they rose to the top they were witches and then burned at the stake. it's just like that.

it's snowing and in the teens with the wind chill. i saw a girl i mistook for a prostitute. she was wearing a skirt that barely covered her ass and some spike heeled boots. i kept waiting for her to fall down, she didn't. i was tempted to run up to her and ask her if her iq was the same as her bust measurments. i don't understand the students here.

i'm spending my last day in savannah. i'm glad i got to walk and that my parents got to see that (as it was mostly for their benefit). but my friends here mostly made me feel, at best, like i never left, or at worst, like i was never here to begin with. becca and kevin have been great. i got to see claire before she left and lynn and the kids and a ( Read more... )

i got two jobs today! i start working tomorrow at one and friday at the other. i couldn't get a freaking job scrubbing toilets in savannah to save my life, but two days in alabama and only one day looking for work = two jobs. who knew? and they're all fine with me leaving at the end of the summer. dad's happy. i'm happy. i guess that's all that ( Read more... )

first interviw post-bfa this morning went so well, they called to schedule my second interview for this afternoon. turns out they want me for a job that isn't the job i applied for, but may be even better. it's some kind of admissions position where they'd send me out traveling, meeting with potential students. it sounds like it might be alright.
