Decided to give some more attention to the legs. The way I built the feet was to basically glue a slipper onto a stiff rug, then put foam around it and fur it. I'm not sure how other people do it, but it seems to work out pretty well. But that left the foot soles looking kinda crummy. I wanted a nice black cavas like I see on other footpaws. Most tutorials I see just used the shoe or had a fabric bottom. But tutorials haven't helped me much yet anyway. I was in walmart and saw some matting in the sports department that you would normally put weight lifting equipment on. It's basically a thin black foam, but it had the look I wanted. It was really easy to cut and I just glued it on to the bottom. I'm not sure how durable it would actually be outside, but this was never intended to be and outside suit really. But since it's just glued on to the bottom it should be easy to replace anyway. I like the look now.
I still need to sew the black fleece onto the waste band of the longjohns I built the legs around. I've just been holding it up with pins. I want to extend them both up a bit so I can add a belt loop for the tail, but it's not really necessary.
One of the pictures I took yesterday was almost the same as one of the pictures I had of the real costume so I shopped them together for a fun comparison. There are some small differences, but I'm really happy with my results so far.
