Okay, I have some questions. I suspect I already know the answers based on your conclusions. 1) When you did character creation, did you do the full Franchise Creation process? 2) How much Stress did you, as the GM, hand out? 3) Did the players distribute franchise dice afterwards to recover from Stress? If so, how were the dice distributed (by whom, etc)?
Inspectres benefits STRONGLY from multiple plays. I'd actually recommend that if you're going to play a single session, you do at least two cases with a break between them. The strengths of the game are based upon the cycle of play, so a single case doesn't give you an opportunity to really get much out of it.
