It was Tuesday evening, and whether there were classes or not, Walter intended to see Vlad. He hadn't seen him in days and was chagrined to realize that he'd missed him quite a lot.

Not that he should be surprised, based on the way that sonnet had caught and held his attention at the tea shop the other day.

He mounted the back stairs and knocked on Vlad's door, already smiling at the prospect of seeing his lover.

Vlad heard Walter's heartbeat through the door. He could have unlocked it from where he stood across the room.

Instead, he walked over to the door and opened it himself. This had everything to do with the fact that he and Walter hadn't seen each other inthe past few days and nothing to do with avoiding the blood bag.

"Hello."

Walter looked up at Vlad - one of the few people who was actually taller than he - and smiled. Just an open, honest, "seeing you makes me smile" smile.

"Hello."

He held up a paper bag. "I brought you something."

Vlad took Walter's hand and tugged him through the door. That smile gave him ideas that were best not executed in the hallway.
