my boyfriend seems to think that the post office throws out postcards that don't have writing on them (besides an address) or at least throws out a large percentage of them. UGH. i hope this isn't true because i mailed out about 200 today and 20 of them were international. you international kids owe me big time! they were .70 cents a pop. i'm ( Read more... )

That's not true, so don't worry about it. When I was doing my zine, and was recieving upwards of 20 pieces of mail a week, I recieved many postcards that didn't have any writing on the side with the address, that were just info updates (on the alternate side) or promotion. I think I also, at some time or another, put out info postcards that were the same deal (address on one side, info on the other) and never once had any of my postcards either returned or destroyed by the post office. Actually, I think it is illegal, unless you are transporting bombs or "suspicious material", for the post office to intercept your mail.

I would tend to agree with the latter. Why would the post office even care in the first place? I mean if you've paid them for a service and they fail to deliver on the service then they'd be liable for failure to deliver their service.

just to let you know that sometimes it takes about a month for a postcard from us to overseas. mail these days are just very stringent.
