Can you transfer schools this late? I have looked into transferring (Bard and Yale) but it seems like they will only accept transfer students who have only had around 1 year's worth of credits.. basically it's impossible if you are any further than a 2nd semester sophomore.
FYI if you move to LA/ArtCenter you will NEED a car! Their public transport is crap and the city is so spread out that it's pretty impossible to function without one, unless you can deal with taxi taxi taxi all the time. If I remember right, artcenter is actually a ways out of the city proper...#
On a good note, since you and Ryan are both from Cali originally, wouldn't your/his parents be ok with the move back west? You'd especially be closer to his family and every family wants their kid to come home!!!

and i agree with the girls comment above me, you HAVE to have a car or a carpool cause artcenter is up in the hills, away from city/buildings/homes and would be quite an athletic walk or bike ride !

I am officially a 'quitter' and over time, am learning to hate my drop-out status. I think I may become a poor full time design student again next year in Sydney or New York (if they'll have me). But, more to the point, dude you can't just hightail to LA straight from Japan. You need to be east coast for just a little bit to cause trouble with me. At this stage I'll be there until at least late February. TROUBLE!

hey kate, can you give me the dates of your la / nyc trips? because i'm not planning on moving to la till about late may or early june but i will be in la in january post japan (to check out art center) but then i come back. my guess is i'll be in nyc when you are there either pre or post WORLD POWER TOUR. if you give me the dates i can confirm this.

Ha! I was thinking 'wow, this boyfriend fellow is a quiet observer!' OK! My dates (tentative until I muster up the courage to fork over 3K(!!!) for the ticket are as follows: LA: Dec 16-19 NYC: Dec 19-late Feb/March 2003, with Rockville MD and Montreal(?) thrown in for good measure too, somewhere along the line.
