I realize that by the standards of the rest of the nation this is not a large snapping turtle, but the only type of turtle I've ever seen here is a cute little painted turtle so compared to that it was monstrous. It's shell was bigger around than the hubcap of my car. Crappy phonecam doesn't show much detail.

Ooh I don't think you'd want to put a foot on his tail, although I don't know if he would move very fast to react except to curl into his shell.

It would be cool to see a foot beside him someplace to get some sense of size.

My Hurleyturtle has a bit tail too, for his size. I'm trying to make it so he doesn't grow so fast though, because we don't have anywhere to put a pond!

He's awesome. Word of warning when talking to snapping turtles, they have bad breath!
