A Plunder of Pirates

Okay, I'll be blunt: How many of you care if the new POTC is good or not, as long as Johnny prances, Orlando glowers (heroically) and Keira is feisty, in her special, bony way? I feel a poll coming on... yes, here it is...

Poll The Aesthetics of Arrrrr!!!

I've actually be avoiding the reviews because if it sucks, I don't wanna know! I want to let it be what I think it is: fun, adventurey, funneh, pop corn fair... to hell with any sort of artistic merit!

The flist is full of squee, but it is from PotC fangirls so I guess that has to be taken with a grain of salt.

Yeah, my flist is awash with teh squee. I wasn't so crazy about the first movie, though I thought Johnny Depp rocked the party and Geoffrey Rush stole the whole thing when he said, "Arrrr!" Orlando's a little less wooden this time around... still, no onscreen love scene with le Depp. Woe, woe!

I totally loved the first movie.

The Geoffrey Rush "Arrrrrrrrrr!" was definitely a highlight, I laugh every time. I like it for the Depp mostly.

Also, that Norrington fellow? I don't know what it is about a fictional uptight British Naval Officer from hundreds of years ago, but hawt damn.

Post after you've seen it! Did you notice this in the previews? Most unexpected!

I take it straight up the right nostril, but I'm funny that way.

A publicity still tells me there is is muddy, smirking Norrington. What do I care about the rest?

Mmm. Mud. Smirking. Your logic, it is irrefutable.

Funniest poll I've seen all week!

If there's one scene in the new film that's as good as Johnny at the end of the first film spinning the wheel and singing, "Drink up, me hearties, yo ho!" then I'll consider my ticket as money well spent.
