Yes, tell me of a wonderful, rustic, out of the way place in your country or mine where I can lose myself for a while. It must have wifi and espresso.

Been wondering about you and your academic adventures. I think one of my editor's kids has Jane as a prof in NYC. Possible?

Well, there's always my house. Wifi under the grape arbor! Admittedly the grape arbor abuts the alley, and the alley is full of the local kids practicing their swear words and smoking, but you can always turn in the other direction and gaze at the peach tree instead. With headphones on it's practically Provence. With wifi. (Although surely all of Provence is equally well wired by now anyway? oh well. Come here! is my point.)

I think you're on the my-adventures-in-academe filter, if you wanted to poke around my lj. But all my adventures lately have been entirely bureaucratic and administrative anyhow, so not as venturesome as all that, alas.

And Jane's not teaching at the moment at all as far as I know, so, no, not possible.

Glad to see you're back, however briefly. Also glad to hear news of your continued respiration. I approve of respiration, except in asshats and certain politicians. You're neither, so you get to keep on with it.

Sweetheart. We should have called you when we were in SF 2 weeks ago- we spoke of it repeatedly- but my family was underfoot everywhere you turned and time was short and got away from us. Plus, weren't sure you wanted to be called.
