I'm guessing he's someone who works with endangered species like our little long-eared friend. That's what I hope, anyway. PLEASE... DON'T... EAT... THE CUTE.
He's a long-eared jerboa, a gerbil-like rodent who hops like a kangaroo and is veeeery endangered. I'd be surprised, actually, if this particular photo hadn't already made it on Cute Overload. I will check.
How's life in Sac Town during the holidaze? How's dog?
Semester is almost done, thank god, so that is good.
Dogstein is good, but he doesn't live with me :-/ Even if I could have him with me, I don't think it would be right to keep him in a small apartment. He lives with the mom and she has a big yard AND works from home so he can run around and also have someone with him most of the time (he's a very needy dog!)
Recently, I have had a stray kitty living with me. He's been hanging around the neighborhood since I moved here, but he had a bad injury so I have been taking care of him.
Miss living with the dog, but I still visit him (and the mom) every 2 or 3 weeks. LOVE my place and the part of town where I live. People think I am crazy, but I like living in Sac better than SF.
I once had this sheet of bat stamps on my fridge, and they had a dumb USPS blurb beginning, "Long misunderstood..." and my friend Geoffrey looked at one of the stranger bats and said, "I'm misunderstanding him *right now*!"
I think that is how I feel. I, too, am v worried about the health of this ... what is it? Some kind of rodent, right, not a bat?
He's a long-eared jerboa... a very special gerbil, if you will. An endangered species. Hence, I don't think the man in the picture is throttling him, although it does look suspicious. More likely he's a kindly ecologist trying to document the species and thus preserve it.

Leeetle teeny claws, beedy eyes, redonk head to ear ratio, the "zomg!" look on its face... whatever it is, I think Cute Overload would approve :-D
