I have a new left hip. It looks like this. Fear me.

As long as I don't have to run for mayor of this godforsaken state, I am loving my terminatrix status.

Holy crap! I mean, yes you are fearsome and that's good, but then you were already fearsome, and I'm so sorry you had to have a big operation and all.

The operation was great -- I was awake and heard the surgeon pounding in the implant and everything! -- but I did have a One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest experience two days later. But that, my dear, is a tale for another time.

The last time we were in touch, you were going through some rough times. I hope life is better...

Better, yeah. Fishwhistle and I are recovering more or less. We're hoping for a drama-free patch of time eventually.

I have an electromagnet and I'm not afraid to use it. Fear me.

(Also, eek! Are you okay?)

You are the puppeteer; I am but your instrument. Use me wisely.

(I am my usual cranky self, thanks!)

Do you set off airport metal detectors now?

I'll find out next month. I hope they allow blogging in Gitmo.

Oh, fabulous! Has the pain from surgery gone down a bit? Wasn't it strange walking again for the first time? :-)

Yes, the pain's mostly gone. The muscles and nerves are still kicking up a fuss, but I expect they'll shut up at some point. Walking without agony for the first time in years is pretty remarkable... have you had a joint replacement?

No, I took care of my mom when she had hers done; she could barely walk a few steps before, but in no time she was walking the entire hall of the hospital. With NO GRIMACE. :-)
