Blend in. That's what the Doctor had told her. The TARDIS was sick and damaged and he needed to repair her which meant leaving Donna where they had crash landed for awhile. It wouldn't've been so bad if they hadn't crash landed in some parallel universe in 1973. Donna hadn't been born until the mid-70s and her memories of that time were fuzzy at

What? He was on break. Still, on break or not on break, he couldn't let some git swipe someone handbag.
Shoving the rest of the sandwich into his mouth, he chew thoroughly and crouched down, snagging the bag free from the bastards hand and offering to the women it had been taken from.
He did say something but it was somewhat muffled by the mouthful of bacon sandwich. Not far from behind Gene, standing by a Cortina, a shorter and perhaps more conventionally handsome man put his head in his hands. Oh Sam, he stopped the mugger, what more did he want?

She accepted the handbag, giving a smile. "Thanks." She could've handled it herself though. Really.
Donna glanced over at the Cortina. A shudder ran down her spine. That guy? Yeah, he seemed familiar. "Your mate doesn't like your methods, eh?"

"Watch what you're doin' in future. Dozy cow, honestly. Women can't keep a hold of anything."

It'd been easy enough to find the pub. Well, it was only just down the road, but all she really had to do was follow the noise. She stepped inside to be greeted by a cloud of smoke. Oh yeah, no smoking ban. Reminded her of her youth. She headed to the bar and ... oh god... that DCI bloke from earlier. Just what she needed. She did her best to ignore him and caught Nelson's attention. "Pint of lager, please, mate." No girly drinks for her.

"You stalking me now then?"

She paid for her drink, picked up the glass and downed the whole thing in seconds. God was she ever ready for that. She ordered another one.
"Got better things to do with my time than follow some nicotine stained, sexist, lazy, thug of a copper around, ta."

And he wasn't, he never would be. Instead, he took a nice long drag of his cigarette and blew the smoke right back at Donna. Yes, he was a git. But hey, he wasn't the only one blowing smoke in this place. Literally and figuratively.
"You know, the more of them you down, the more I start to doubt that you're actually a bird."

She dared to enter the lion's den, setting the reports down on the desk, as well as a bacon butty, a cup of tea and two painkillers. Don't say she doesn't care, Gene.

And that was literally it. What? Did she want something more?

She smiled. "Oh, and the puppy and the sexist git snuck out the back door about half an hour ago." That would be Chris and Ray then.
