Donna had been in the library relaxing with a good book, a mug of tea and a box of chocolates from her secret 'me-time' stash. It had all been going so nicely too. At least, it had been going nicely until the TARDIS jerked, sending the mug crashing to the floor, the chocolates following, and Donna barely managing to stay on the sofa

"Yeah? You're so brilliant that you're going to summon the TARDIS?" That came off a little more snarky than intended. He eased her to the floor and wrapped an arm around her shoulder for support. He didn't approve of this at all, but he was still her friend. He had his suspicions of she was intending to do, but she was being reckless akin to Rose becoming the bad wolf.

"No, you're gonna summon the TARDIS, you dumbo. Like last time. All you need do to is reverse the thingymijigs like you did before and make the TARDIS come get us."
She didn't even know if it would work, and she really hadn't thought of the whole purging the Huon energy out of her afterwards - couldn't really get a Racnoss to do it again.

There were so many factors going into this, could he get past the guards? How badly would this harm Donna? Would they get killed in the process? Could he truly pull this off?
The more he thought about the plan, the more his doubt grew, this would be close to a suicide mission mixed with pure luck. If he has more resources and help, maybe he'd be a little more confident with it. Not that he didn't have confidence in Donna, which he completely did, just.
"Ok." He sighed, "I'll give it a go. Just... let me think this out." And now it was his turn to make a fuss and be taken away in handcuffs. If he was to do this, he needed to scope out his surroundings more, and perhaps gather more information from their captors.

Waiting in the darkness for the Doctor to come back felt like waiting an eternity. Donna had no idea how long it had been. Minutes? Hours? Days? It was impossible to tell in the endless darkness. She'd tried counting in her head, but she hadn't got much beyond a few minutes before losing count.

"When they come for us again, I want to try and fight them off and run. Do you think you can do that? Down the hall and to the left is one of their command rooms." He didn't have a definitive plan, but as always he made it up as he went along.

Her voice was a little shaky with nerves. "Yeah, course. Love the running..."

They were both in no shape to pull this off and it'll boil down to sheer luck if they do.

"Just around the bend..." At a door, he unlocked it with his screwdriver and stepped in with Donna close by. "They'll know we're here..." He didn't have to finish the sentence.

As they rounded the corner she took hold of the Doctor's arm, clinging to him. She was tired of the Reject Power Rangers.

"If they have all of this, the heart of the TARDIS has to be somewhere too." It was too valuable to just leave it floating in space.
Slowly, he walked around, touching pieces fondly almost as if he were in mourning.

"But we can fix it. You can fix it, right? Doctor? That's what you do... fix things. If we can find the heart then it'll all be okay... right?"

Yes, he had an idea, but it was just that - an idea. He didn't have a clue if it were to work or not. He hummed to himself in slight dissatisfaction.

"Well, trapped in a room with a broken TARDIS and a Time Lord... Suppose it's a better way to go than being run over or growing old and losing my marbles..."
Donna Noble. Citizen of Earth. Stubborn as they come. She was giving up.

Very faintly the floor started vibrating, which caused the Doctor to reinforce the idea of her to move away from the door.

"Stupid question, but what the flippin' heck was that?!"
