The trip to visit Casanova had been put on hold. At least for the foreseeable future. The last thing Donna remembered was some git spraying them with some alien gas and going on about some combined fantasy or some such. After that, things were blank ( Read more... )

"What? What?" the Doctor yelled as shot upright in panic, his hair sticking out everywhere and his tie jolted to the side ever so slightly. Why was he fully dressed? "What? Do you need a Doctor? What's wrong? Oh God, you're having a baby? Quick, we need to... erm, something. What do we do?"

Well, no one could say the Doctor wasn't the master of panicking, especially when he'd fallen asleep downstairs for some reason.

Because, for whatever reason, the Doctor seemed very much flustered and for a very different reason. Falling out of bed, he landed with a small noise of pain.

"Adam! We need a Doctor and a taxi, stat!"

"What?! No, I'm not having a baby right now! At least... I hope not..." The Doctor really wasn't doing much to calm the situation or calm Donna.

Percy petted Donna's tummy. "Mommy's bump!" Oh this was all to weird. Far too weird.

It was then that Donna managed to get a good look at the room, and the many, many photos in frames on the shelves and walls. A hell of a lot of pictures of her and the Doctor. A hell of a lot of her and the Doctor in wedding clothes. What?! What?!

"Doctor?! What the hell is going on??"

"Um," the Doctor was on the floor, looking amazingly pathetic with his mouth half open. What was wrong with Donna? She seemed mad... hormones. Definitely hormones. Backing up slightly, he gave her a nervous smile.

"You're having a baby? And, erm, that's all I can think of. Sorry, what is going on? I'm a bit confused."

"Breeeeaaaaakfaaaast," Percy whined from the bed, tumbling onto his back and flailing his feet in the air, trying to get their attention. He didn't get all the panic, he just wanted his pancakes.

Rubbing the back of his neck, the Doctor offered an apologetic smile. "Erm... go ask Adam to make you pancakes, buddy."

"Yeah, thanks for that one. Worked that one out myself though. Being the size of a house gave it away." Donna was not a happy bunny, not at all. "Doctor, please... just tell me what's going on? Where are we? Where's the TARDIS?"

She was scared, confused and worried. And the fact the Doctor hadn't broken into some technobabbled filled speech about their situation was even more worrying, especially since he looked so clueless.

Donna wiped at her eyes. Bah, hormones! Whoever first decided that whenever something is wrong with a woman that it was hormones needed a good slap. It was probably a man. Although hormones might be making things worse in this case. That didn't change the fact she was confused and scared and nothing made any sense.

"Just... tell me. How did we meet, John? Where did we meet? Come on, take me down memory lane."

"Um, well, we met on your wedding day. I made you late for it and we went all around town trying to get there and then I left you too it, after everything went a bit wrong. Then we met again a few years later at my office... why?"

Entirely wrong and yet he didn't notice at all. Surely something should of gotten his attention.

Donna pressed a chaste kiss to his lips. "Not quite how I remember it, to be honest. You missed out the spaceship and the Racnoss and the robot Santas."

She sighed and stroked his cheek. "Where is he? Where's my Doctor? The Doctor, in the TARDIS, where has that silly alien gone?"

The Doctor just looked entirely confused, after all, he didn't know what was going on, he was quite heavily indoctrinated here. To him, this was his life. And even if it was fake to Donna, it was real to him.

"I don't... I'm not an alien."

"Alien space blue!" Percy chimed in, trying to prompt him as well.

Donna's eyes shot open, and quickly narrowed into a glare. "Give over, you prawn."

She swatted his hands away and tried to sit up, only for her head to start swimming and end up grabbing onto the Doctor for support, and maybe a clinging hug, but mostly support,

Well, either way, the Doctor was hugging her with a goofy smile. And mimicking him, Percy hugged Adam, tackling the teenager to the ground. "Love! Love and hugs and friends."

Well, Percy had everything pretty much summed up for him. "Glad you're alright."

"The weirdest thing just happened..." She frowned and clung to the Doctor tighter, well, as tight as she could with the bump in the way. Dammit, why was she still the size of a house when all the others had realised this was all an illusion? Why hadn't she gone back to normal size? It was a slow, cruel torture, reminding her what she could have if she accepted this world.

"Let's find the TARDIS and go home, please?"

"Back home it is then," helping Donna up, the four of them headed into the car once more and the Doctor obey no traffic laws as he whipped through the streets and headed home. Parking the car neatly, he got out and ran around the back, Adam on his heels and Percy scampering behind.

"Where is the TARDIS?"

"No idea! Just keep running.£

Donna handed Adam some crisps and chocolate to distract him from any bad behaviour. Great parenting, distractions and bribery! She scooped up a tired little Percy who gave Adam a sleepy wave. He tried to stay awake, but at the end of the day even though he was an android, he was currently in a human body and it got tired too easily.

She carried him upstairs to the bathroom, rolling her eyes at the watery mess as she waded through the puddles to brush Percy's teeth. Then to the bedroom to change him into his pyjamas, and then into bed for storytime.

While Donna played mom and Percy went to bed, Adam and the Doctor were discovering the joy of TV. Ah yes, the highlight of a domestic lifestyle was most definitely things like late night horror films.

"I used to watch them when I was living with Rose, though I had more privacy," Adam complained, sprawling out idly.

Once Percy had drifted off, Donna set the storybook aside, turned on his baby monitor and nightlight and left him to sleep in peace. She then tidied up the Doctor's mess in the bathroom. Seriously, how had the TARDIS not thrown him out in the void yet for all the mess he makes?

She eventually headed back downstairs and settled down in the armchair. "Typical blokes, glued to the telly while the women do all the work."

"Well you could join us at any time," Adam pointed out as he settled down quite contently, watching the wolfman chase after his victim. Course, he and the Doctor had the same sort of reaction.

"Well it's hardly his fault."

"Exactly!"

Donna scooped up Percy and rested him against her hi, looking at the Doctor. "How should I know? You were the one living the fantasy, Spaceman."

She began to root through drawers and papers before giving a wicked laugh. "Remember what you said about not having to deal with kids?"

The Doctor gave Donna a look of horror. This was not going well. Reaching out, he snatched the paper off her and-- damn. This was just not funny. And he wasn't about to admit that he was a teacher aloud. And especially not where he was teaching.

"What? Where is he working?"

"Nowhere!"

Donna continued to laugh. Oh, she shouldn't really laugh, but she couldn't help it, it was just too amusing. She ruffled his hair and kissed his forehead. "You'll be fine. Promise."

What's the worst that could happen? Surely the kids loved him... hopefully... Oh well, there may be egg attacks or superglue incidents...

Snatching the paper off the Doctor, Adam read it over before bursting it laugher. "Oh well at least I'll get a lift no matter what."

The Doctor glared and headed to the door, a very amused Adam following after him. "Bye mom!"
