What a woody question!

At a recent Toastmasters meeting, someone asked the group, "If you were a tree, what sort of tree would you be?"  This was part of the Table Topics session where anyone is welcome to stand up and give a 1-2 minute response.  The question was rather boring, but the answer one young woman provided really got me thinking

I'd go with the palm tree, having grown up with them. They can find water in drought, bend in even hurricane winds, and have very deep roots. And they make a heck of a mess when they drop their fronds!

My answer would be an oak--a live oak. They are strong and hardy and branch out in many directions just like me. The irony is that the tree my car hit was a live oak.
