Through my years of riding I could never focus on one discipline for more than a year at a time. I've always been switching around and trying new things. Last year was eventing, this year is team roping...
Obviously I can't just hop on my horse and say lets go get that steer, there's quite a bit of work going into this, and I may have found something I can focus on. My little paint gelding with the missing eye was once a roping horse, so a little work there and he'll be chasing steers out of the chute in no time.
As for me, I'm stuck on the ground roping a fast lane dummy called Hooky. I'm working mostly on heeling, but it's nice to be able to catch a head or two. I've moved up to roping poor ole Hooky from a walk off my trusty mount.
I'm always holding the camera, so no fun pics of myself for embarrassment. But here's one of my friends at roping practices! They throw in poles once and a while. Excuse the poor photos.
