now see that's an interesting phenomenon.
i've found that, and i'm not trying to sound like a dick here, but the rate of how casual of a computer user one is is inversely proportional to the amount of crap user programs will give you.
case in point, i had a friend who had a broadband connection on an old computer, no virus scanner, no protection, not behind a router, no nothing essentially, would only use it to browse the interwebs and play the occasional game, and it worked fine for years. at the same time, i had a computer that was about 3 times as powerful, yet it ran slower than their old one, protection-wise, it was essentially locked down, and yet i was having some kind of problem where every few months or so i had to completely reinstall windows. right now as a matter of fact, quicktime refuses to function properly on my machine.
madness i say.

If I had 5 dollars for the number of times someone brought in their iPod and/or computer into the tech shop because iTunes wouldn't work/download/save the world and it was obviously OMG!somethingwrongwiththedevice!...then I could possibly afford to finish grad school. And I only worked there two years.

*hearts*

You left out the important info: like what size flash drive did they get you? That'll show you how much they really appreciate you. =)
P.S. - stupid students. *punches*

they were supposed to be 2GB drives, but the bookstore gave them 1GB, they're trying to fix that.
