I just watched it! It looks so good! It reminded me of how much I loved the last book -- because it has everything from a trio-heavy focus to action and epicness! Can't wait!

They're really going all out this time. I mean, just read the slogans (is that the proper word? Captions? Titles?) in the trailer. "Worldwide phenomenon." "The motion picture event of a generation." If that's not promising epicness, I don't know what is.

The scale of the shots is just totally impressive, and yes, epic -- lots of outdoorsy stuff, huge magical special effects... I think part of the reason I'm so impressed is that the way the movies portray the dark magic is so much more threatening than I pictured in my imagination -- it's faster, more dangerous, and scarier. So seeing it on screen is totally effective at conveying just how evil the bad guys are...
