30 Days of Harry Potter Meme - Day 4

As of now, it's Half-Blood Prince, but I'm fully expecting that to change once the Deathly Hallows movies come out. I know, I know, never trust a trailer, but I still have very high hopes for DH. The filmmakers have roughly five hours to adapt my favorite book. It better be the best of the movies.
HBP is my favorite of the HP movies at the moment simply because it was both true to the spirit of the book and a genuinely good film. True, I wasn't happy with everything; the attack on the Burrow was pointless, Ginny's awesome did not manifest itself, and that last scene with Harry and Hermione talking and Ron just sitting in the corner still drives me insane. However, there was also a lot that was very well done. Jim Broadbent as Slughorn was pitch perfect casting, as was Hero Fiennes Tiffin as young Tom Riddle. I was very impressed with Tom Felton's performance this time around. I love Harry on Felix, the first potions lesson (frizzy-haired Hermione! Yay!), the Quidditch, the memories, and the Cave. David Yates, I think, understands the trio's dynamic very well, and that comes through both in HBP and OotP. The drawback? Kloves was back for this one, so Hermione still gets other people's lines and Ron still gets a bit shunted aside. Oh, Kloves.
That being said, I do love me some HBP. It's a great film and a good HP adaptation, so I'm happy to call it my temporary favorite.
