We just dropped $5,275 on a new roof (mostly a cross between insurance money and a home improvement loan). Of course, that means something else just has to be replaced. It wouldn't be right if we didn't have something else require maintenance when we're low on money

Oh my god, that's fucking terrible. Nothing is worse than when your pipes potentially freeze. Good luck dude :(

Well, we have 3 electric space heaters, so hopefully we can pump enough heat into the house in the evenings to keep things warm, and I'm calling the HVAC folks tomorrow - maybe we can get a bill for the work that we can pay on Friday (when I get paid).
