Good luck. May his memory be for a blessing, and may you come up with something evocative... sometimes it happens at the last minute. (Says the 16 year old who wrote her grandmother's eulogy in one and a half hours, 21 years ago...)

Knowing you (or at least, being familiar with your writing in this format), I'm sure it will be fitting and honourable to the grandfather who left so much to be remembered by.

By the time I write these words, the funeral will be done. I send a prayer in the direction of New York City, so that this will speed your grandfather's spirit on his peaceful way to whatever good things he believed came next... and to help your family deal with the loss.
