I think the right person won. I was hoping he'd win right from the first time I saw him in auditions. I did like Chrislyn but she would have been another Casey Donovan. Gone and forgotten after one album. Like all the girls really. Mark was fugly and Luke is actually more boring than Wes, I think ( ... )

Oh hunny, I've opened the proverbial can of worms here.

The right person won but his competition wasn't up to much. They were just going through the motions to make money for Telstra.

Mark may have been fugly but who looks at a person when you hear the song on the radio? Wes is weird looking but that didn't stop him. And he's tiny... Anthony Calea sized. Hey, they didn't call him pocket rocket. Obviously being referred to as a mini vibe is only for females ( ... )

Re your comment that none of the winners has done well... don't forget Guy was the biggest selling male artist in the last ARIA year. The media and that 2nd placed guy's management do a good job of proclaiming Shannon the best thing since sliced bread (despite the last 2 albums being flops). In the meantime, Guy rolls on, with an album release overseas in 2009 - the import copy of which is already getting rave reviews in many languages, so it's out there already.

Good luck to Wes and Luke.

I didn't forget Guy.
Not at all. He has real talent and can do just about anything he sets his mind to I think.

Here we go again, why does it always end up being about Guy being better than Shannon Noll. Just another Guy supporter who is jealous of the success that Shannon Noll has had. Give it a rest, you always turn it into a slanging match. Give credit where credit is due. Not all of Guy's albums have been raving success's either! Not that I have anything against Guy - top bloke, nice artist.

Anyway, back to the original topic, which is what this is about, the best person of the competition won, and deservedly so. I agree, great 1st single for him and I think he just might buck the trend and do well. I was hoping for Chryslyn to be with him in the final, as, boy she could belt it out but I didnt think she was another Casey either, as she had personality and could face the media etc which Casey struggled with. Another that I thought could also have done well was Brooke, who unluckily never got a chance to show how good she could be, hopefully she will pursue a singing career regardless.

I will buy Wes's single and probably his album!

Jealous of what "Here we go again, why does it always end up being about Guy being better than Shannon Noll". Jealous of the fact that Shannon's last single debuted outside the Top 50, and his last album disappeared out of the charts with decidedly less than Gold sales. Probably not even half the required sales to gain Gold accreditation. No way, no how. Would never be jealous of something like that when Guy's last album had the highest sales for a male Australian artist this Aria year, and gained 2 X Platinum sales in its first 10 weeks on the charts ( ... )

HEY girl! How have you been? I thought you had gone off planet or something. Do you know if curefreak is still alive?

Love your user pic. : D

I've been good and busy writing.
How are you and your family?

I don't get to lj much anymore. The fics I used to enjoy reading have deteriorated in quality quite a bit. But there really are a few ljs I should keep up with, some of the more 'mature' - and I say that tongue in cheek - ones.

As for curefreak, I don't know. I hope so. He's cool. Might have to see if his shop is still there and if he's still in it. Maybe he's super busy and making millions in this tough economic climate.

I'll try to not be such a stranger in the future.

We are all fine. We have moved back to TN from North Carolina, and that is a GOOD thing. Bill is working in a defense industry company, and Chelsea is homeschooling this year.

Yes, don't be a stranger. My journal doesn't have fics, but my life is often stranger than fiction!

If you see Curefreak, tell him the Headbanger is planning world domination, and I need him for my financial advisor.
