Mm, so I'm thinking of holding an open day in my classroom.  I've never had very many students, and having my classroom half-empty all the time is a bit depressing.  So what does everyone think about the door being left open and maybe some snacks and a bowl of punch and all of you come look at instruments in progress and see if anyone's interested

I teach Instrument Making, actually. I play the piano best, but there's a whole class for learning how to make flutes and instruments like them. Would you like to come look around?

So if I join this class, would you teach me how to make a piccolo? If yes, I'll love to take a look!

Piccolos are on the lesson plan, yes. You'll have to learn -all- the instruments, though. I'm going to wait and see if anyone else is interested; I'll put on an open house in the classroom if there are more takers...otherwise I'll just invite you up some time soon.

That's not a very polite way to talk to a teacher. I realise that this academy is a very permissive place, but that isn't an excuse to be rude. What's your name?

Nevertheless, that was actually the -idea-, hence offering to throw a party just to get some interest.
