As always, I think you've made the right decision. Durmstrang, of course, is definitely the better school for me to attend. After all, since you'd originally planned to send me there, surely it's much better than Hogwarts. Of course, Mother can't bear to have me so far away, which you and I both know.
However, seeing as I'm going into my sixth year at Hogwarts, I can't see the benefit in transferring to Durmstrang at this point. Of course, if you had decided to have this conversation in my second year, it would have been much easier. But since I'm a Prefect at Hogwarts, and I'm certainly going to be Head Boy next year, surely I'd be losing more than gaining it by transferring to Durmstrang. Lord, I'm sure I could become a Prefect there as well, but I'm not so sure I'm interested in the effort of having to have one of the Prefects there eliminated.
And have you thought about what listening to those terrible accents will do to me? What if I started talking like that?
I'm not exactly fond of the cold, either, and Mother has told me over and over just what it does to Malfoy skin. What if I got frostbite and my fingers fell off? That could take years to recover from.
And let's not forget the fact that I likely won't be able to be a Seeker at Durmstrang, either. Obviously I'm the best Seeker they could get, but of course, schools are so fussy about the rules, and certainly their Seekers are all alive and well (unfortunately). Perhaps one day I'll want to be a professional Quidditch player! I'm certain the Falmouth Falcons are just the team for me, of course. But I've got to keep playing Quidditch for that.
Of course, I respect your decision, Father, but I just don't think it's realistic for me to transfer to Durmstrang now, unfortunately. I've suffered through Hogwarts this long, and I certainly have the backbone to do it for the rest of this term and the next one. After all, if I've suffered this long, I might as well go through with the rest of it, or I'll have spent nearly six years in this rat trap for nothing!
